The band couldn’t have come up with a better video for their theatrically dazed new single Flash Delirum and you can watch it now on their website or below. So much is going on here and it makes me even more intrigued and excited about MGMT. It all starts with what seems like a welcome-back party full of characters, with a singing trio of ventriloquist’s dummies, as the old lady bursts out playing the flute (my favorite part of the song!), triggering an eel to come out of Ben Goldwasser’s throat to then feed some kind of mutant machine… this video is CRAZY!

The MGMT album has leaked and the band decided to stream it on their site before the release date on April 13. Enjoy it here!
I really didn’t like it at first, but decided to take it for another spin. I’ll give it to these guys, they are doing their thing regardless of it being accepted (understood?) or not. Most of the songs lost me halfway through it, but I Found A Whistle has grown on me with its Smashing Pumpkins infused vocals building to a Polyphonic Spree-type ending, as well as the title track Congratulations and single Flash Delirium, which had me from the start (I love that flute!!). I guess these guys are even more all over the place on this album, but somehow it is coming together as I experience it more.
